Categories: | Verano #28 representatives, as well as representatives from 3 Participating Tax Entities and 2 representatives from the State Senator’s office and State Representative’s office. The Board has representation from Council Districts 1, 3 and 4, (7 City appointments), 4 Bexar County appointments, 1 ACCD appointment, 1 San Antonio River Authority appointment, and the State Senator or Designee, as well as the State Representative or Designee. A quorum of 7 voting members is required to conduct business on the board’s agenda. |
Mission/Purpose: | The Verano TIRZ was designated in 2007 to stimulate development in the southern section of the City, between Southwest Loop 410 and the Toyota Motor Manufacturing facility. It encompasses 2,700 acres and is projected to capture $235 million in tax increment throughout its life of over 40 years in total. |
Meeting Schedule & Location: | Meetings are scheduled anytime, when necessary. For this TIRZ, up to 4 meetings per year may occur. The meetings are usually held in the Concourse Conference Room of the City Tower Building. |
