| Board Composition: | This board was created prior to September 1, 2001, the board is composed of nine members, pursuant to Section 311.009 of the Texas Tax Code, Chapter 331. Five of the board members are appointed by the City Council, for two-year terms. The City Council also appoints the Chairman of the board, for a one-year term that is effective January 1 of the year following the appointment.
The City Council of the City of San Antonio may appoint the Board Chairperson. The participating Independent School District may appoint one (1) director so long as the participating Independent School District approves payment of all or part of its tax increment to the tax increment fund for the Reinvestment Zone. Bexar County may appoint one (1) director so long as Bexar County approves
payment of all or part of its tax increment to the tax increment fund for the Reinvestment zone. The Teas State Senator in whose district the Reinvestment Zone is located is a director (1) or may designate an individual to serve in that State Senator's place on the Board, at the pleasure of that State Senator. The member of the Texas State House in whose district the Reinvestment Zone is located is a director (1) or may designate an individual to serve in the State House member's place on the Board, at the pleasure of that State House member. In addition, the City Council of the City of San Antonio may appoint four (4) directors for the Reinvestment Zone. Each director must meet the eligibility requirements of Texas Tax Code, Section 311.009. |
